Being there is the password.

No invite link. No follow button. No search. You hold out a tag, somebody touches their phone to it, and they are in your room.

How it works

Only one person needs a tag.

If somebody holds one out

You only ever need your phone.

Whoever is already in holds their tag out and chooses to let you in. You touch your phone to it. There is nothing to sign up for, no password to invent, and no way to look anybody up.

Touching your phone to it again later renews you. Stop turning up and you come off the list quietly, and nothing you said goes anywhere.

There is nothing to do here until somebody holds one out. No queue to join, and no link that would help.

If you are starting one

One tag, one room.

The tag is a card, and it stays where the room is: behind the bar, in the van, in your pocket. Everyone who taps that one card is in the same room, and there is no second way in.

You choose how long a tap lasts, you can see who let whom in, and you can retire the card. Anyone you have let in can hold it out for the next person, so the door is not you.

What is missing

Four things it does not have, and will not get.

No search You cannot look somebody up. You meet them or you don't.
Nothing to follow Each room has a timeline, in the order things were said. You read it because somebody let you in, not because you subscribed.
No invite link Nothing you can forward. A way in cannot travel without the person.
No permanent membership Not showing up for a while quietly removes you from the room.
The queue

The first batch is small and cut by hand.

A tag is for whoever is starting something: a bar, a band, a Tuesday climbing group. If somebody is already holding one, you do not need this. You need them.

Leave an address and we will tell you when the first batch is ready and how to get one. There is no newsletter, and no mail goes out from here yet at all.

A place in the queue is not a tag. It is where we start when the first batch is ready. The address is stored so we can write to you about that, and it is not used for anything else. There is no mailing list to be added to.

What a tag is
An ID-1 card 85.6 × 54 mm, the size of a bank card
NTAG 424 DNA inside Every touch is different, and each one works exactly once

One tag opens one room. If you want two rooms that do not know about each other, you need two tags.

Opening the door is the app

A browser reads the tag and lets you in once. Letting somebody in, renewing and handing over talk to the tag, and that is the app.

Install it, sign in with your passkey, and touch again.
